Newport Pagnell Carnival 5km with 15kg for charity

On Saturday I rounded off this years physical fundraisers for South Central Ambulance Charity running Newport Pagnell Carnival’s 5km in Community First Responder uniform, boots & a fully laiden 15kg response bag

I won’t lie, it was a tough 29 minutes as runner 999.

Lack of training swiftly provided a powerful dose of reality, powered on by shouts of firefighters behind me…. I was determined to cross the line ahead of the fire crew from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service

Running through my adopted town, where I volunteer responding to 999 calls was one to remember & the support from the crowds carried me around when the legs started to become jelly

With this short effort and Januarys month of challenge, I’ve raised £1200+ for the charity, thank you all for the support as one big community
